MUSTACHIOED CLEVELAND NEWGRASS TRIO HONEYBUCKET TO DEBUT MUSIC VIDEO OF KID CUDI COVER ALONG WITH NEW ALBUM AT MUSIC BOX SUPPER CLUB AUG. 8
Three acoustic musicians have put a new spin on bluegrass and hip-hop music by embracing the spirit of Cleveland in their version and music video of famous local rapper Kid Cudi’s hit “Pursuit of Happiness”.
Honeybucket, a Cleveland-based newgrass trio just back from competing at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado, is premiering the video and releasing its second album “Stompin’ Grounds” at the Music Box Supper Club on August 8, 2015. Formed on Halloween night in 2011, Honeybucket pushes traditional bluegrass and folk music through a filter of modern pop/rock songwriting and soaring vocal harmonies. This hybrid of old-timey and contemporary music is guaranteed to make you smile and stomp your feet.
"The 'Stompin’ Grounds' album is a labor of love," says Adam Reifsnyder, guitarist and vocalist for Honeybucket. "We've really honed our sound and focused on conveying the fun and energy of our live show in these recordings."
Doors to the music video premiere and album release concert open at 6 p.m., and music begins at 8 p.m. Honeybucket will welcome special guests Dolfish – fresh off a Korean tour – and The Whiskey Girls – dueling bluegrass cellists from NYC.
Before Honeybucket performs live, the trio will release their first ever music video "Pursuit of Happiness” originally written by Cleveland native and hip-hop artist Kid Cudi. The video was shot on location at Spice Kitchen+Bar’s Spice Acres Farm in Brecksville, Market Garden Brewery and The Cleveland Hostel rooftop in Ohio City.
